Hi Everyone,

I have just finished hanging new certificates up in the shop, so thought I would tell you about them. We were over the moon last week to win nine Smithfield Awards from the Q Guild, they are some of the highest awards in the meat trade. Odile and I went down to Butchers Hall in London last Tuesday to collect 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze awards for our products. We got to meet chef Brian Turner, who was a lovely man and gave an excellent speech at the awards lunch, highlighting the fact that we are not educating our children properly at school about how to cook. He stressed the importance of teaching the children where food comes from and how it gets to their plate. We both had a lovely time at the lunch and enjoyed our first trip, hopefully of many to Butchers Hall.

The Smithfield Awards are run by the Q Guild, of which we are a member, the Q Guild is a collection of like minded independent butchers who work together to pass on knowledge, expertise and skills.
